Affiliate Disclosure

Chop Nook is free to read. We keep it that way by earning small commissions when you buy through some of our links. Here is exactly how that works, and why it never decides our picks.

Last updated: October 24, 2026

Plain-English summary

  • Some product links are affiliate links.
  • You pay the same price whether you use our link or not.
  • Commissions never decide which products we rank or how.
  • Our guides are research-based. We do not claim hands-on testing.

01

The short version

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

In plain words: when you click a product link on Chop Nook and buy something on Amazon, Amazon may pay us a small fee. Your price stays exactly the same.

02

Our affiliate programs

Amazon Associates is our main program. Now and then we may join another retailer’s or brand’s program when it sells a product we already recommend. Any link that can earn us money is an affiliate link, and this disclosure covers every one of them.

03

How a commission works

Say you read our guide to the best Japanese steak knives, click a set you like, and buy it on Amazon. Amazon pays us a small percentage of that sale. If you add a cutting board to the same order, that may count too.

You pay nothing extra. The fee comes out of Amazon’s side of the sale, not your pocket.

04

Why commissions do not change our picks

  • We rank products on research: maker specs, steel and hardness data, documentation and verified owner reviews.
  • We include products from many brands, including ones that pay us nothing.
  • No brand can pay to be ranked, reviewed or mentioned.
  • We name the downsides honestly, even on products we link to.

05

We research, we do not test

Our guides are built from research, not hands-on testing. We compare published specs, materials, warranties and the patterns we see across verified owner reviews. When we say a knife arrives sharp, we are reporting what the maker states and what many owners say, not our own trial.

06

FTC compliance

The US Federal Trade Commission requires websites to clearly disclose any material connection with sellers. This page, and the short notes near our product links, follow the FTC’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255), as revised in 2023.

07

Prices and availability

Prices, stock and deals on Amazon change often, sometimes within hours. The price shown on Amazon at checkout is the one that applies. Product details may also change after we publish, so check the listing before you buy.
